Heiji Monogatari has many kinds of texts which are written in different narrartive styles, though having the mutual title and theme of the War of Heiji. Because the three are considered to be the representatives of Heiji Monogatari, I've studied the narrative method of the Eleventh Text in comparison with those of the First and Fourth Texts. Though the Eleventh Text consists of the stories taken from the First and Fourth Texts, it is not a mere mixture of those two, but has a quality of its own. Different from the others, it has the attitude of describing the War of Heiji from outside the monogatari world, of arranging the plot in a proper shape, and of trying to give a new interpretation on it.
