The image of "Train Window" is frequently used by Sakutaro, because he thinks it is structurally similar to a camera, a device which makes people conscious of watching things. By regarding his "train window" as a topology of the space of his feelings where his attitude of writing and choice of words are decided and his imagery is fixed, Sakutaro's "Night Train", his maiden effort, is here evaluated. Glass, the material which encloses the subject of the conscious, and its permeation into the body, are also discussed. The poetical image of "sharing a seat" is associated with the feeling of liberty one has when he entrusts himself on a vehicle and shares his observations with someone else.
