The conventional photographic system consists of input, processing, output processes. In the digital photography, the processing process is the image data processing. The data processing includes transformation, correction, enhancement, compression and decompression were done through that process. These processings affect the image quality of output pictures. In order to designa digital photography system, we must consider the influence of these data processing on output images.
This paper discusses the procedures to check the tone reproduction of output prints made by above modulated image data. A new magenta single color chart showing 256 level density and the introduction of colorimetric analysis to evaluate the tone characteristics were proposed. The results suggest to realize an evaluation method for the image quality change on the digital photography prints caused by various image data processing.
