1.Led by the National Library of the Netherlands, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the IMPACT project aims to share expertise from across Europe and establish international best practice guidelines with a view to speeding up, standardising and enhancing the quality of mass digitisation through establishing a Centre of Competence for text based digitisation.

3.Principles and policies for preserving the digital heritage will be on the agenda of an international conference that the Netherlands National Commission for UNESCO and the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the National Library of the Netherlands, are organising in The Hague, from 4 to 5 November 2005.
